Theme: Time for Tea
Invite friends over for tea and treats. This is a simple yet elegant party idea.

Party Ideas

  • Collect an assortment of tea cups for an eclectic feel
  • Make your dining room table into a tea station and bring chairs into the mingling room for more sitting space
  • Ask your children to act as “servers” and help pour tea

Consider Serving: Tea, coffee, punch, cake, cupcakes, cookies, finger sandwiches and scones with cream and jam.

Theme: Blushing Bridal Shower
Gather friends and family over to celebrate. Get the bride-to-be to dress in pink!

Party ideas:

  • Serve finger foods to keep costs down.  This also keeps people mingling because they aren’t sitting down to eat.
  • Have a bride quiz.  Ask guests to write down their answers to questions about the bride.  The prize for most correct answers could be one of KitchenAid’s pink products.
  • Serve cupcakes instead of cake.  No forks means less dishes!

Consider Serving: Cupcakes, cheese platter, vegetable platter, mini pizzas, pasta salad, spring rolls, and chips and dip.

Theme: Cook for the Cure Around the World
A party like this is a great opportunity to try different foods and learn about customs from around the world!

Party ideas:

  • Place signs beside each dish, explaining what it is and where it’s from.
  • Ask your guests to bring international recipes to share with other guests.
  • Laminate maps to use as placemats.
  • Have a ‘world knowledge’ quiz.  Look on the Internet or use questions from games like Trivial Pursuit.

Consider Serving: spring rolls, sushi, empanadas, samosas, shish kabobs, escargot and tapas.

Theme: A Pink Affair to Remember
This party theme is right up your alley if you like things pink, pink, pink!

Party ideas:

  • Get pink leis from your local dollar store to give to guests when they enter the house.
  • Serve pink lemonade or 7UP with grenadine. Try adding a scoop of pink sorbet to the mix.
  • Decorate with pink tablecloths, pink candles, pink napkins and pink flowers.
  • Check your local bakery to see if they make coloured bread.  Pink sandwiches would create a stir!

Consider Serving: Pink foods such as smoked salmon, cooked shrimp, chips or pita with red pepper dip or pink salsa (regular salsa mixed with sour cream), red berries (raspberries, strawberries, cherries). Beet juice can be used as a natural food colouring in almost any recipe!

Theme: Pink Elegance
Pink with an elegant twist.

Party ideas:

  • Have a cocktail party under the stars.  Having the party in the evening saves money because people are coming after dinner.
  • Light rooms in candlelight or dim your overhead lights.
  • Have soft, jazzy music playing in the background.  Classic songstresses such as Edith Piaf and Ella Fitzgerald could add to the mood.
  • If you are entertaining in a room with a television have a classic black and white romantic movie playing in the background.
  • Serve all drinks in cocktail and martini glasses even if they are alcohol free!
  • Freeze berries in ice cubes for a fun drink treat.
  • Create a special drink of the evening and name it after the event or the person you are celebrating.

Consider serving: variety of olives, cheese and cracker selection with grapes, melon and prosciutto bites, bocconcini, tomato and basil stacks, bruschetta and crostini.

Theme: Backyard BBQ
Celebrate a new home, new job, retirement or just because!

Party Ideas:

  • Turn a table into a buffet so that everyone can serve themselves.
  • Serve dishes that can be made ahead of time.  This saves you time on the day of the party and makes for easier clean up.
  • Have water handy if you are hosting your party outdoors.
  • If you are inviting families to the event, have some activities or games available to keep the kids occupied and entertained.

Consider Serving: variety of salads (potato, pasta, corn, tomato or bean), beef, chicken and veggie burgers, grilled vegetables, chicken wings, vegetables and dip, chips and salsa.
